Teen Wolf Character Questions

Expectations.

I agree, that's a horrible word to start off this blog with. But it's the only word that I felt could correctly describe the Teen Wolf fans anticipation for Season 2. And because I'm a geniune fan and my expectations aren't high (because I already know that Jeff Davis and Co. will not disappoint), I've decided not to focus this blog on the show as a whole. Instead, I've put together some character questions for whomever is willing to read them. So listen up Scott fans, Stiles addicts, Lydia and Jackson shippers, and Allison followers: this is the blog to pay attention to.

Gee, where to begin? Let's start with Scott McCall, the title character.

Scott: Father Explained

I don't know about you but my biggest question after watching the first season of Teen Wolf was as follows: Why haven't we met Scott's father? That was such a big mystery. And he was mentioned a few times during some episodes which raises the question: Does Scott's father have a lot to do with who he is as a person? I mean, it was never made clear as to why he left the family but I noticed that Scott's mother made it known that it was in her son's best interest that he was gone. But why?

Will that concept and character arc be explored this season- or ever?

Let's move on to Scott's love interest, Allison Argent.

Allison: The Hunter?

I can't really imagine that at this point in the game Allison would do anything to hurt Scott. I've already stated before that we needed that moment on the rooftop, when Allison and Scott were ready to take on the world. And now, we get hit with the news that Allison will be digging deeper into her hunter background. But is she doing so in order to appease her family? Or are her intentions to better protect Scott's secret from those who have higher authority in the hunter world? And when she becomes a legit werewolf hunter, how is this going to conflict with her relationship with both Scott and her family?

Next up is Jackson Whittemore, Scott's nemesis.
Jackson: Werewolf Background

I'm really surprised that no one has ever raised this theory. When Teen Wolf had us going on a frenzy during season 1 to try and solve who the Alpha was, one of my predictions was that Jackson's father was the Alpha. And was I right? No. But when I think about it, I am curious as to who Jackson's father and mother is. Jackson is adopted, this we know. But are his real parents in the supernatural world? I mean, that would be intriguing to discover that Jackson is more invovled in the werewolf life than even he knows. Is that a possiblity?

Let's follow with Lydia Martin, the mean girl.
Lydia: The Smart Girl?

Probably the most confusing character on Teen Wolf, Lydia still has me scratching my head. What is her deal? Is she mean or is she thoughtful? Is she ditzy or is she smart? I'm not sure what to think of Lydia. Yet, it is nice to know that she won't be playing stupid anymore. But why was she trying to hide her beautiful mind in the first place? Was there a specific reason besides the fact that she didn't want it to jeoporadize her popularity? For example, could her intelligence be a threat to her? Could it put herself in danger? Does she know things that she shouldn't have any knowledge of?

Now it's time to question the Alpha, Derek Hale.
Derek: Past Explained

We touched on it briefly yet Derek's past is still a blur. Will we find out more about his family life? The flashbacks were a tease. Technically they weren't even legitimate flashbacks, there were only blurry scenes flashing across our screens. We never saw how many exact family members were killed in the fire. We don't know whether Derek and his sister escaped the fire or if they were even there when it occurred. Will there be an episode devoted to exploring the Hale family dynamics? I think seeing Derek's interaction with his family will clear up matters for us. Did his position in his family result in him being the type of leader that we are going to see him be, as he is as the Alpha this season?

And finally, we have Stiles Stilinski: loyal sidekick.
Stiles: Stand-Alone Character?

I can't deny it: Stiles was a well-written character. With such a dark theme and intense genre, Stiles comedic timing was never late. His one-liners made the first season a thrill to watch. Now with such momentum already stored in a character, will he ever be more than a sidekick? Seeing Stiles stand up to Scott was exciting to watch but it was also very brief. By the time the episode ended, he was back to being the best friend. Will he ever find his edge? I mean don't get me wrong, I enjoy knowing that Stiles is the guy who doesn't get the girl. And I like that he is the unlikely pick at all times. And I even understand the purpose of Stiles and how he has to come second to Scott but will he finally become his own person? Or is that too soon to ask? And is it even in the writings for him?

Expectations, back to that word.

Truthfully, I don't expect. I know that we'll receive greatness this summer. And I'm sure that all the Teen Wolf fans have the same outlook.
